USPS Big Announcement on January 16, 2009?

There is a lot of talk in the postal community of a "Big Announcement" on January 16, 2009. Some are speculating on the possibility of a revamped postal early out offer that will not penalize CSRS takers. Many are desiring an early-out incentive that far surpasses the antiquated pittance of an incentive that is capped at $25,000 ...an amount that is taxed to its own demise. The Federal Government is quick to offer bail-outs to the financial sectors, yet our essential service sector employees are left to fend for themselves. Maybe this meeting will offer some hope ...or maybe it will be just more consolidations, cuts, and other employee damaging moves that simply are doing nothing more than to continue in crisis management mode. We can only wait and see.
